About The Birdcage
Natural-looking results. Honest advice. Individual care.
The Birdcage Aesthetics & Beauty is an independent, multi-award-winning clinic in Middlesbrough. We offer skin, aesthetic and beauty treatments with a clear aim: to help you feel comfortable in your own skin while keeping your results natural and individual to you.
Our work starts with listening. We take time to understand your concerns, your skin, your medical history and what you would realistically like to achieve. You do not need to know which treatment or product to choose before you visit. We will explain your options clearly and recommend a plan only when it is appropriate.
Appointments are one-to-one and unhurried, in a friendly, non-judgemental setting. If you feel anxious about treatment, please tell us; we can talk through each step and give you time to decide. There is no pressure to proceed, and we will be honest when a treatment is unlikely to help or is not in your best interests.
The clinic is at 12 Britannia House, Brignell Road, Middlesbrough, TS2 1PS, with free onsite parking. Visits are by appointment only. Current availability, treatment options and prices are listed through Book in Beautiful.
Meet Claire and the story behind The Birdcage
Hi, I’m Claire, founder of The Birdcage. I began the business in my home conservatory during lockdown, following a career in education. What started as a small, personal space has grown into a four-room clinic, but the way I care for clients has stayed the same.
I am a Harley Street-trained advanced aesthetic practitioner with a particular interest in skin quality and subtle, natural-looking enhancements. I continue to develop my knowledge and training so that the advice I give reflects both the evidence available and the person in front of me.
My approach is to assess the whole picture. Changes in hydration, texture, facial support, lifestyle and hormonal stage can all influence how your skin looks and feels. For many clients, especially through their 30s, 40s and beyond, a considered plan works better than treating one line in isolation.
The Birdcage is built on honesty, quality and individual care. I will explain what a treatment may help with, its limitations, likely recovery and the commitment involved. I will also tell you when another option, medical advice or no treatment would be more appropriate.
We are proud to have received national recognition, including Aesthetics Clinic of the Year at The British Hair and Beauty Awards 2026. For us, the most meaningful part of the work remains the trust clients place in us and helping them feel like themselves, with renewed confidence.
Alongside clinic treatments, The Birdcage provides accredited beauty and aesthetics training. Our teaching reflects the same emphasis on assessment, careful practice and ongoing learning.
Your consultation, treatment and aftercare
Every aesthetic plan begins with an assessment of your concerns, medical history and suitability. We discuss the available options, possible benefits, limitations, risks, recovery and costs before you make a decision. Where a prescription is required, an appropriate prescribing consultation must take place before treatment.
We allow time for questions and reflection. Injectable treatments are for adults aged 18 and over, and treatment will be postponed or declined when it is not appropriate. Selected lash and brow services require a patch test at least 48 hours before your appointment.
Skin health comes first. Your plan may include skincare advice, facials, treatments focused on hydration or skin quality, or a carefully considered combination. Courses are recommended only where they suit your needs, and results vary between individuals.
You receive treatment-specific aftercare and guidance about review appointments. If you have a concern after a visit, please contact the clinic so we can advise you on the next step.
We welcome feedback about your experience. Reviews help new clients understand the clinic and help us continue improving the care we provide.
